The new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, clarified all the rumors and announced how much the ‘blue check’ of the verified account will cost.
“Twitter’s current system for determining who or who doesn’t have a blue tick it’s mi#$%. Power for the people: a brand for $8 a month,” he posted on his Twitter.
The businessman concluded the purchase agreement on the social network in October, and in his first hours at the helm, he dismissed several people from leading positions, including the former CEO of the company, Parag Agrawal.
Twitter’s current lord and peasant system of who has or doesn’t have a blue tick is bullshit.
Power to the people! Blue for $8/month.

What do you get for paying $8?
According to Musk, by paying this fee, account users will have:
- Priority in replies, mentions and searches, which (according to Musk) will help you ‘win’ spam.
- The possibility of publishing long video and audio recordings.
- half an advertisement on your account.
Musk assured that the subscription will allow Twitter to ‘reward’ content creators with an inflow of income.
The entrepreneur clarified that the price published this Tuesday will be harmonized in accordance with purchasing power of each countrythis so that there is some proportionality, so the costs for countries like Mexico can vary.
Among some of the changes Musk has announced for the social network is the creation of a ‘Content Moderation Council’, which will try to represent the majority of views on what should and shouldn’t be posted on Twitter.
“Until that council meets, there will be no big decisions about the content or resetting the account,” he warned.
With this last sentence, Musk seemed to be referring to all those whose accounts have been blocked in recent years for violating the network’s content rules, including former President Donald Trump.
