This October 29 is World Day Psoriasisthe date of raising awareness and educating the population about this inflammatory and autoimmune disease, which affects 3% of the world’s population.
In this sense, the Journal of Medicine and Public Health, in alliance with various health organizations in Puerto Rico, will lead an important meeting dedicated to patients with psoriasis and other conditions in skinin which leading specialists in rheumatology, dermatology, immunology and endocrinology will address everything related to the management of the various dermatological conditions affecting the population of Puerto Rico.
In addition, patients, doctors and the community in general will be able to get information about different disease states skin such as hidradenitis suppurativa, atopic dermatitis, alopecia areata and cancer skin.
Experts who design the event called ´Protect your Skin: from research to treatment’, from the facilities of the Central University of the Caribbean, are:
dr. Samuel Sánchez, president of the Dermatological Society of Puerto Rico.
dr. Marely Santiago, dermatologist and member of the Dermatological Society of Puerto Rico.
dr. José González Chávez, dermatologist and researcher at the Medical Campus.
Dr. Anardi Agosto, President of the Puerto Rican Association of Allergists.
dr. Eneida de la Torre, dermatologist and assistant professor at the Central University of the Caribbean.
dr. Luis Ortiz Espinosa, dermatologist and medical director of Nova Derm Puerto Rico.
dr. Paloma Alejandro, rheumatologist at Soto-Raíces Mindful Rheumatix & Medical Research Group.
In addition, Danilo Beauchamp, producer, comedian and patient, will take part in the event psoriasis en plaque, who made his condition visible and strives to raise awareness of the importance of early diagnosis and indicated treatment of the disease.
