MercadoLibre’s net profit was up 35.8% in 2022Q3.

EFE.- MercadoLibre, the Argentine e-commerce and digital financial services giant, posted a net profit of $129 million in the third quarter of this year, up 35.8% from the same period in 2021, the company reported this Thursday.

According to the results report presented by the company, the realized net profit is equal to a margin of 4.8% on revenues, with an annual increase of almost three percentage points.

“We see this as a solid result despite a challenging scenario and reflects our team’s ability to achieve profitable growth,” said the company, whose shares are listed on the Nasdaq index in the United States, which groups the world’s major technology companies.

According to financial results, the Latin American multinational made a net profit of $317 million in the first nine months of this year, compared to a net profit of $129 million in the same period in 2021.

The company reported net income of $2,690 million in the third quarter of the year, compared to revenue of $1,858 million between July and September 2021, representing an increase of 44.9% year over year.

“We are satisfied with the financial results for the third quarter of 2022,” assured the company, which specified that it generated net income of $1.5 billion in the e-commerce segment and $1.2 billion in the “fintech” segment (financial services based on on the Internet).technology).

In the first nine months of this year, MercadoLibre generated net income of $7.535 million, compared to revenue of $4.939 million in the same period in 2021.

Meanwhile, operating profit for the period July-September this year amounted to 296 million dollars, a figure that represents a three-month record for the company, with an annual increase of 85%.

Between January and September, the company accumulated an operating profit of $685 million, compared to an operating profit of $417 million in the same period in 2021.

On the customer side, MercadoLibre reached 88 million unique active users in the third quarter, up 11.4% from a year ago.

In the company’s press release, they point out that in the third quarter Mercado Pago, which is oriented towards financial services, exceeded 41.6 million active users, with an increase of 31.6 percent and growth in all markets in the region.

For the first time, the total number of unique users broke the 40 million mark: more than 10 million new users were added in the last 12 months alone.
