Colombian artist J Balvin will receive this Thursday Latin Impact Award 2022 for his contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in recognition of his work for mental and emotional well-being.
This award, which will be presented tomorrow at UN headquarters in New York at the Latino Impact Summit, an event to promote dialogue on the Sustainable Development Goals in Latin America, will be given for his “contributes to visible importance mental health and well-being in the region“, especially through the OYE application.
Balvin is the creator, together with Mario Chamorro, Patrick Dowd and Isaac Leethis application in Spanish and English that offers people a space to turn emotions into creative actions.
Chamorro, CEO of the app, will participate in a talk on “Mental and Emotional Well-Being for Impact,” while Paula Durán, another of OYE’s directors, will lead the experimental activation.
This is the fifth edition of this summit that has not been held since 2019, when the Impacto Latino award was given to another Colombian singer, Carlos Vives, for his organization “La perla de América”, which promotes the improvement of the quality of life in the city of Santa Marta and the region.

The app, co-created by J Balvin, creates “a balance between emotional health and physical health, through exercises that help get rid of stress, fear, sadness and burdens that every human being accepts in their daily routines, reconnect with your inner strength and create the life you want“, according to the definition given in the same application.
The “Mi Gente” singer has been promoting mental and emotional well-being through his social networks for a long time, but it was only this year that he premiered OYE Appwith which he seeks to spread his message to different Spanish- and English-speaking regions.
