J Balvin Receives Latin Impact Award for Contribution to Mental Health

Bogotá, November 2 (EFE).- This Thursday, Colombian artist J Balvin will receive the 2022 Latin Impact Award for his contribution to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in recognition of an app he co-founded for mental health.

This award, presented tomorrow at UN headquarters in New York at the Latino Impact Summit (an event to promote dialogue on the Sustainable Development Goals in Latin America), will be given for his “contribution in highlighting the importance of mental health and well-being in the region”, in particular through the OYE application.

Balvin is the creator, along with Mario Chamorra, Patrick Dowd and Isaac Lee, of this app in Spanish and English that offers a space for people to transform their emotions into creative actions.

This is the fifth edition of this summit that has not been held since 2019, when the Impacto Latino award was also awarded to another Colombian singer, Carlos Vives, for his organization “La perla de América”, to promote the improvement of the quality of life in the city of Santa Marta and the region.
