The adviser of the Austrian team predicts the movements after the death of Dietrich Mateschitz.
Red Bull Racing is experiencing dream times with a return to world titles among drivers and constructors in the current 2022 Formula 1 season, led by the indomitable Max Verstappen and a great teammate like Sergio Pérez. Moreover, The Austrian team also had to live through a difficult moment.
On qualifying day for the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas, the death of Dietrich Mateschitz took place at the age of 78 and after a long illness. A fundamental loss for being the founder of Red Bull and the creator of an energetic team in the top category of motorsports and the World Rally Championship.
After this fundamental low came questions about the futureand in the last hours it was Helmut Marko who addressed this situation. The team’s advisor admitted it the company is in a climate of expectation and movementbut he felt that this it should not affect the sports part.
“There is a lot going on within Red Bull right now, both strategically and politically. Following the death of Dietrich Mateschitz, there are issues that need to be clarified internally. But I don’t think it affected the sporting aspect.”said the former Austrian pilot.
For now, he emphasizes the need to end the year with more victories and, why not, with Checo Pérez as runner-up: “Nothing has changed for the team, our goal is to win the remaining two races. Judging by the speed and stamina we’ve shown lately, we’ll have a good chance of that.”.
