David Faitelson exploded on Twitter after it was revealed that the Mexican national team had ‘begged’ Carlos Vela to provide his services at Qatar 2022.
This is the second time that the striker refuses to play in the World Cup, the first time he went to Brazil in 2014 when he got off the boat after the scandalous Three Party in Monterrey, because he was one of those exposed by Néstor de la Torre, then the coach of the national team.
Vela returned to the lineup with Juan Carlos Osorio for Russia 2018, but this year he opted out of coming with Tata Martino, assuring that his presence is not relevant and that it is time to make way for new generations.
Faitelson singled out the man from Cancun as a player with a “very bad mentality” and stressed that with or without him, Mexico’s participation in Qatar will not change at all.
“It seems absurd to me to “beg” a soccer player to play with the Mexican team. Yes Carlos candle he is capable of throwing the World Cup out, he has a very bad mentality even though he is a good footballer…” the journalist tweeted on Tuesday, November 1, adding: “With Carlos Vela or without Carlos Vela, the result is the Mexican team in Qatar will be the same …”
